Need to Post

Wow, it's been forever since I did a blog post, so I guess I better do one.

Well, what is there to talk about? Well, I have been busy with karate and birthdays and stuff like that, so I haven't had a lot of time for Wizard101. However, I am trying out this new game called "Freejack". It is a parkour (free running) race game. The concept is great, though it is only in it's beta stage for all I know, so there will probably be some bugs to be noted. Either way, a game worth checking out.

I just got out of Ravenwood Radio's One Year Anniversary Party a few minutes ago. Congratulations to the Ravenwood Radio crew for one year of Wizard101 goodness and here's to another good year.

Other than that, tomorrow will be my "offical" graduation party at my house! I am excited to finally get a graduation party, even though it will only be family really. I might do a Wizard101 party at my house, so if you follow me on twitter, make sure to watch your posts if I do go through with this! =D

Don't forget to subscribe! Enjoy!

Gaming Update (First October Post)

Well, it's been awhile since I have posted something in my blog, so I thought I would do an gaming update to kinda let people know where I am at gaming wise.

With Wizard101, I have created a forth wizard. Andrew Sandstone is my new baby balance wizard that I have made and he is currently in Cyclops Lane right now. James Lifecaller has finished all the nesscessary quests and is now eligible to take on "The Warehouse". I can't wait to get to finally attempt this tower after seeing tons of people go in before me!

With Shot Online (a free MMO golf game),  my character has reached level 61 and is moving strong. Level 61 is a big step because with a handicap of -12 on both Hela and Forneus, I would be eligible to take the tour pro test which is another big step. Currently, my Hela handicap is at -7 and my Forneus handicap is at a -2, so I will have some work ahead of me there.

One more thing, I have started playing a new facebook game called "Madden NFL Superstars". It is currently in a beta stage right now, but it is a great concept. You create a roster of players to take on teams in season mode to win season trophies. You can even take on the NFL teams in the NFL Pro Mode to bring your team to the super bowl! I highly reccomend giving this game a try!

Please remember to leave a comment and subscribe! Enjoy! =D

A New "Savior of the Spiral"!

We've got two important pieces of news from me today. =D

My new "Savior of the Spiral" badge!
Well, it is now official! James Lifecaller now joins the many wizards who have dethroned Malistaire and has become one of many to save The Spiral from evil. A big thanks to Christina Icedreamer, Stephen Spiritcaller, and Fallon for being my partners in this epic fight. They did the majority of the work for I played the role of healer, and we all know I don't get any credit for that. :P

Mister Tyson becomes an adult!
In other news, my Satyr, Mister Tyson, became an adult tonight as well. I got to say I like the pet talents he is getting. This makes my second pet I have gotten to adult, my first being my Life Wraith named Lucky. I will probably try mixing with my Satyr, though I want to look at my options first before I decide.

Remember to add a comment, subscribe, and enjoy! =D

Tip From the Tree of Life #1

(Thanks to Christina Icedreamer a.k.a Icywiz for suggesting me this great title to use! Maybe this will run well with "Tip of the Iceburg"?)

I decided to start doing this little thing on my blog. I got the idea from when I first posted the player impersonation post. (Which you can see in my blog as well.) What I will be doing is posting tips about game etiquette for Wizard101, but it can be used for almost any online game as well. This is especially to inform younger wizards, or anyone who would like the information.

For my first post, I would like to talk about friend requests. Everyone likes to have friends available to ask for help in the game. Some people though just want to fill their friends list with high level players. Check out these rules before clicking the friend request button.

(Rule #1: Know the Person) You are more likely to make a friend in game if you actually get to know the person a little bit before you ask for a friend request. I don't just randomally accept a friend request if I do not know the person at all, or have never even talked to them.

(Rule #2: Help the Person) If you want to be on someone's friends list, you might have to prove your worth. Helping a person out will increase your chances of getting accepted. However, make sure that you are willing to continue to help that person out if they need it, or you will not last long on that list.

(Rule #3: Ask First) Before you send a request, it's polite to ask first before you send the request. They may accept if you just send it, but if you are polite, it may increase your odds of getting a "Yes".

(Rule #4: Respect Their Decision) If someone says no, or they just don't respond, chances are that they do not want to be on their friends list, and that's ok, it's not a crime. Don't bug a person about being on their friends list. It will just give you a bigger chance of being ignored than being on their friends list.

(Rule #5: Play As Often As You Can) When you are on people's friends list, try to play as often as you can. If you don't play often, people will remove you for people who do play often. People like players who are active and are usually on in times of need.

Well, that's about it. take these tips to good use. Remember, good etiquette is a very important factor to making friends in game.

The Big 50! :D

There it is! My shiny new Grandmaster title! :D
Well, there you have it! James Lifecaller is now an official Grandmaster Life Wizard! Thanks to Nora Stormcaster (a.k.a Fallon Moongem) for her help in completing the one quest that gave me the needed experience. =D

Player Impersonation

I just really want to post something about this because we've have had this little incident that has happened at the last two "Ravenwood Radio" after parties, and now it is getting to the point where is it really annoying me a lot. I won't go into the incident, but just get to the point of the subject I am talking about.

I want to talk about "impersonating", or a person acting like they are another person. I'm not talking about the comedians who do impersonations of famous people to get you to laugh. I'm talking about a person impersonation another person to hurt that person's image and/or to hurt another player.

Impersonating someone is not funny at all, especially when the goal is to hurt a person's image or to make them look like the culprit. It's also something that can be easily found, because with computers, people can track not only which account that character belongs to, but also the IP address from where the account comes from. Therefore, in the end, you're going to be found out anyway. A big reason of why you should not impersonate any player in the spiral, or in any game for that matter.

You also should never impersonate any person who is a staff member, or any employee of any game. Most online games have very strict penalties for impersonating staff, usually a permanent ban if caught. It's just about impossible to do this and get away with it, for usually the staff is behind the scenes of the game, and usually players who have played the game long enough will know when a player is lying about being staff.

So, in closing, never impersonate any person in the game, ever. You will end up just getting yourself into more trouble than you want, and the spiral should be a happy place where players can mingle and have fun, without having all the trouble.

Are there any wizards from here?

I wonder if there are any wizards from this town? ( I don't think there is an "S" in 'Ravenwood'. =/ )
This picture was taken during me and my mom's trip to Kentucky. My mom thought it was cool and I took a picture of it. =D

A Wizard101 Idea

This is basically a rough draft of an idea I came up with for an "endurance battle" dungeon for Wizard101. Basically, in a nutshell, it's a dungeon that you fight battle after battle to see how many fights you can win in a row. Please leave a comment about how this could be improved, and hopefully I can come up with a revised version with everyone's help.

Again, this is just a rough draft, it's not fully finished, but just an idea of the main concept.

So you are a grandmaster, you've beaten Malistaire, Celestia will be coming out soon, and you need some gold to say, hatch some new pets. Farming bosses works good, but what if there was a special dungeon where the further you went in, and the more battles you won, the greater the reward?

That's what the 'Endless Dungeon' is all about. This special dungeon is what I like to call an “endurance battle”. Basically, the goal is to fight and win as many fights as possible. You start out with easy battles, and as you progress, the battles will get tougher and will push your wizarding skills to the limits.

This dungeon would be available to all players level five and above, as this dungeon will have multiple levels, based on the level of the wizard. However, lower levels will have a lesser reward while the more difficult levels will pay out higher, because more difficult levels will have higher ranked monsters to fight.

The 'Endless Dungeon' would be broken down into four level catagories:

  • Easy Mode – Levels 5-20 – Ranks 1-3 Monsters
  • Normal Mode – Levels 21-35 – Ranks 3-6 Monsters
  • Hard Mode – Levels 36 – 50 – Ranks 6 and Up Monsters
  • Extreme Mode – Levels 45-50 – All Monsters Will Be Boss Monsters Rank 5 and Up

Those wizards who are level five and up will be able to get a quest from Diego. He will explain about a new addition to the arena where you can test your endurance skills. He asks you to go into the PvP arena, make a right, and go down the stairs and to meet him down there to explain the new addition. All the quests that are given here will yield NO experience rewards, but a small gold reward.

When you meet him downstairs, he'll welcome you into the brand new 'Endless Dungeon', where you can test you skills against monsters after monsters until you can't handle them anymore. Diego will then go into the explanation of the rules of the dungeon.

The main rules are as followed:

  1. Once you enter the room of the battle, there's no turning back, you must fight.
  2. There are no health or mana pixies in this dungeon, however, you may use potions and/or healing spells to regenerate health and mana.
  3. You cannot leave the dungeon by porting.
  4. You cannot mark your place in the dungeon.
  5. Once you finish a fight, you may leave the dungeon if you do not wish to continue, but if you progress on, you MUST fight the next fight.

After those rules are explained, he will go on to talk about the rewards. Based on how far you get, you will receive an amount of gold. The further you go, the more gold you will receive! However, if you port out of the dungeon, flee the fight, or be defeated in battle, you will receive nothing. So, be cautious of whether you can get through the next fight or not. Greed will not get you far. Also, because of the amount of gold you can receive, you will be limited to challenging this dungeon once every 48 hours. You will not receive any experience in these fights, no matter how many fights you do.

The dungeon can be done up to four players at once, however, the more players you have, the more difficult the 'Endless Dungeon' will be. Also, to challenge players who can go far into this dungeon, there will be a new boss, rank 3 for easy, rank 6 for normal, rank 9 for hard, and rank 12 for those who dare go far on extreme. This new boss will challenge wizards to the limit, but will handsomely reward those who can manage to defeat it, along with a shiny new badge to brag to their friends.

Below is a rough map of the general area of the 'Endless Dungeon'.

Wizard101 People

Leesha Darkheart

Stephen Spiritcaller

Fallon Moongem

Christina Icedreamer

James Lifecaller (Me!)
(All pictures of the characters are from Facebook.)

Level 49!

Not much in Wizard101 to talk about for me. Although, today James Lifecaller has hit level 49! Now I can see the long road to level 50 and my grandmaster title. A whopping 41,880 experience to achieve.

Other than that, I have been playing the roll of healer for Fallon Moongem and Calamity. Calamity is inching closer to her grandmaster title. Though this morning I did get ticked off when Wizard101 disconnected me in the middle of The Labyrinth and then I couldn't get back in.

One more thing I have been doing is some pictures on MS Paint. They are designed like those funny motivational posters you see online. I created five of them for four of my coolest friends on Wizard101 and also one for myself. I will post them later.

Enjoy!

Successful P.T! ^o^

Well, not much has happened on Wizard101 since I last posted, but I do have some good news for this blog post. Today was my potential last day of physical therapy! They really worked hard on my left hamstring, and now they want me to continue to stretch it out for a few weeks and we'll see if either I need to continue P.T., or they can close me out. =D

For those who don't know, about a couple months ago, I pulled my left hamstring during a sparring competition in New Jersey. I was still able to finish the match. The interesting part was that I had still done my individual competition without any problems until then. I still continue to take class at my do jang (studio), the only main problem is my flexibility. I just can not kick as high as I used to prior to the injury, but that doesn't mean I will keep trying! =D

So I will keep working at getting my flexibility back! Please make sure to leave a comment on my blog, or even just a note saying hi. Enjoy!

New blog! :D

Well, the first blog I tried I didn't like because no one would have been able to reply to my posts. I want people to reply to my posts, because that's what blogs are all about, right? =D So, I'm going to kind of redo my one post on this blog so that hopefully now I can get some replies!

I will start with how I got into Wizard101. It’s actually pretty simple. I started playing because I saw my mom playing this game. I then decided to make my own wizard, and James Fireblood (my pyromancer) was born. In less than 48 hours, I had completed everything I could do on the free trial I could do, and I wanted more. Soon, my mom bought the family package and I continued on with my pyromancer.

However, I got a little bored with my pyromancer, so I decided to start over with a theurgist. Coming from other MMO games, I was usually a healer, so the life school became an interest to me. Soon enough, I was playing my theurgist more and more. My theurgist currently is my highest lever and my main character, followed by my pyromancer, and then my necromancer.

So that’s pretty much how I got going in Wizard101. Short, but to the point.

My question to you now is: How did you get started in Wizard101? Did you hear about it on a website, or were you referred by one of your friends or a family member? Leave a comment on this post. Enjoy!
